Our courses aim to be a fun and informal, with the end result seeing you have the skill set and confidence to transform any piece of furniture into something that you love using the wonderful Autentico chalk paint range.
The Beginners Painting Course starts at 9:30am and takes place in the Leconfield Hall, which is just opposite our shop in Market Square, Petworth. Please arrive at 9:15am so that we are all ready to start at 9:30am. We aim to be finished by 2:30pm. The cost of this course is £95.
As mentioned the course is very relaxed and the techniques will be taught at a pace and order that suits those in the room. We take our time throughout the day to ensure that no-one feels rushed and so that there is plenty of time for people to ask questions and chat through the techniques in as much detail as necessary. Everyone will go home with all the vital knowledge needed to get cracking on any project they so wish!
As part of your course fee you will be given a lovely pine shelf that you will paint on the day and will be yours to take home with you. Additional techniques will be taught on learning boards that, again, will be yours to take home and will serve as a valuable point of reference when you start using these techniques on your own projects. You will also receive course notes to remind you of everything that you have learnt.
The ‘Beginners Painting Course’ will cover the following techniques:
(If you are looking to learn more advanced decorative techniques you may like to take a look at our ‘Advanced Decorative Techniques’ course - more information coming soon)
Tea, coffee and homemade cake will be served throughout the day. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements please let us know upon booking your place. We will also take a 45 minute break for you to get some fresh air stretch your legs and grab some lunch.
On the day the only thing that we recommend you bring with you is an apron to protect your clothing, or else wear old clothes. We don’t anticipate much more than the odd small splatter of paint, but best to come prepared!
When the course is finished you will be welcomed over to the shop where you will receive 10% off any purchases made on the day.
What this course also offers is ongoing help and support; we are here to help. You will always be welcome to pop in to the shop or drop us a line to ask questions or pick our brains on design or issues. And finally, we apologise in advance for the painting bug you will have caught by the end of the day - being able to transform things in so many creative and varied ways is truly addictive!
Full payment of the course is required upon booking. Should you change your mind or not be able to attend your selected date for any reason you must let us know at least 14 days in advance. You will be given the chance to swap to the next available course date or else cancel. If you cannot confirm for the next available course date we will be forced to cancel your booking. Rebooking can only be offered once.
All cancellations will incur a £35 cancellation fee - this is necessary to cover materials that will have already been purchased plus the re-marketing of the place on the course. If you do cancel you will be refunded within 7 days, via the original payment method, minus the cancellation fee.
